A Riot of Color

Posted by

Apples and pumpkins are replacing fresh corn and peaches at farm stands, and the hills are flecked with yellow, red and orange. Inside the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, a riot of color in paintings and sculpture. Southern Vermont is blessed with a thriving and vital arts community, and the BMAC consistently offers a treasure trove of changing, fantastic exhibits. The current exhibits of works by Red Grooms and Mallory Lake are guaranteed to delight and transport. Most works are up through October 20th, but this weekend is the last chance to get on the (nearly-life-size) bus sculpture parked inside the large entry gallery. So, if you can bear to tear yourself away from nature’s dazzling display of colors for a few moments, pop inside and take a little art-ride.
