Ahead and Back

Posted by

The fourth day of 2011 already. Late on my new year post. Happy New Year! Godt nyttår! Godt nytår! Onnellista uutta vuotta! Gleðilegt nýtt ár! Buon anno! Bonne année!
Thinking back – a year of many new and familiar roads taken, many spectacular bridges crossed, a big move, many many opportunities for change, the love of family and friends, the kindness of strangers. Looking ahead – the pressure and hope of possibility.  And also a resolution for writing more regularly in the year ahead. Each picture below could easily have been a post of its own. Hope to see you on the road.

Art, architecture and design at roadside areas
Art and Culture for free
Hill towns, wine and olive groves to get lost in
Lusthus I'd like to live in for a summer
A dream garden shed
Smallest store
Transformer towers repurposed for art
Land art park
Best hotel on the water in the city
Best blue and white china fix in the land of blue and white
Best ever gas station - designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1937
The magnificent North East Kingdom of Vermont
Best morning cup of tea
Best ever brioche and great bread
Favorite birch allee
Traces of Vikings
Best in the slow lane
Coolest spot in the midst of starchitecture
A slow ride on the River Belle

With thanks to family and friends, new and old, near and far.
