Today sunny and breezy in Vermont, orange and yellow leaves shimmering in the sun. Yesterday evening, a drive south from the Champlain Valley in the pouring rain, the colors on the hills bright, a reprieve from the gloomy dark skies and rain-soaked roadway.
An unexpected visit to the Shelburne Museum. History and art – folk and fine. The inside exhibits a perfect foil for the intermittent afternoon rain showers. The outside gardens and displays, a delight during short periods of sunny skies. Soon to close for the season, I was glad for another chance to see the Paperwork in 3D exhibit – especially the joy of Emma Hardy‘s Packages sculptures.
It is so nice to see the encouragement to play with art

The Shelburne Museum is a treasure trove of local historic buildings in a park-like setting, with many exhibits of fine and folk art. And though much is behind glass and for touching with our eyes only – I was especially delighted this past visit by the interactiveness and the touchability of some of the 3D paper exhibits.
