At first glance, Dover NH may not be a top tourist destination. On a recent trip there I found early spring – sunshine and rushing rivers – and even a bit of ocean and fresh seafood. Beautiful, historic mills dominate and grace a town center that can boast a river and a rushing waterfall – with parks and a river-walk area bustling with picnickers – renovation and development hopes clearly visible.
And because New Hampshire lays claim to small section of seacoast wedged between Massachusetts and Maine, I also found a walk on the beach and fresh lobster only a short drive away. Ocean and river in one day – well worth a second glance.
Nice write up, great photos. Looks and sounds like a place with real character.
