Worlds apart – and a perfect pairing. An exhibit on roadway art, design and architecture in Norway and the High Line – a raised walking park above the bustle of NYC city streets. Both were experienced on the same day in the same city, and were at first glance a study in contrasts. One a city scape, the other a majestic nordic landscape. Yet they shared a sense of grand vistas, a feeling of the open path and endless possibilites. Concrete, weeds, art and rest areas in unlikely places and combinations. A day to be savored, the sun warm on our backs as we traced the rail-line on the High Line, with memories of roads driven across open high mountain meadows brought to life by the exhibit later in the day.
