This morning we woke to a landscape enveloped in white. By mid-day the thick, dense fog had dissipated into thin air, revealing a brilliant clear blue sky. A late afternoon walk along the West River Trail, late autumn colors soft and muted. The silence and birdsong interrupted only by the rushing of the river-water, and at times – by the busier-than-usual Route 30 traffic on the other side of the river. At walk’s end, a rosy sunset sky reflected in the cool water, wisps of mist rising from the river, a three-quarter moon high in the sky. A gorgeous day, drawing to a close. Cooler weather on the horizon – this delicious, mild November weather sure to come to an end.
